They had kissed once.
Their clothes were soaked through as they stood on the side of a dirt road, changing a tire on Lex's car. He was trying to impress Clark, getting right down in the mud with him. The tire kept slipping away from Lex's wet hands. Clark managed it himself, maybe a little too easily. He was covered in mud when he got up off the ground to stand in front of Lex, leaning against the car.
"You're so butch," Lex teased.
There it was, the light in Clark's eyes that meant Lex was going to be in trouble. Then Lex smiled when he realised that this time it meant he was going to be kissed.
Clark's lips landed on his like the kind of surprise you see coming, and Lex swayed back with the impact. His tongue reached for Clark's as he pushed deeper into Lex's mouth. A curse was trapped inside Clark and vibrated through him to Lex, everywhere their bodies touched.
Lex tore his mouth away to breathe and it came out sounding like, "God." They sagged against the car, Clark sucking at the pulse in Lex's neck like his lips were the only thing keeping the blood moving.
"Get back up here, Clark," Lex groaned and yanked Clark back up to his mouth.
Lex didn't remember the rest of it. He didn't remember how it ended, only that it did and he went home with a mess in his pants. Clark must have made it home because he was at the castle the next day with the produce.
They didn't talk about it. Lex just blamed it on the rain.
